Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily obtain a liq. crystal display element with superior reliability by using specified modified epoxy resin as an adhesive for sticking glass for protecting polarizing plates laid on both sides of a liq. crystal display cell. CONSTITUTION:Upper polarizing plate 5 is laid on the upper side of liq. crystal cell 1, and lower polarizing plate 6 and reflecting plate 7 on the lower side of cell 1. Glass plates 8, 9 for protecting plates 5, 6 are then stuck to plates 5, 7 with adhesives 10, 10, respectively to form a display device. At this time, as adhesive 10 a mixture of epoxy resin and a boron trifluoride amine complex is used. Adhesive 10 is prepared by blending 100pts.wt. of epoxy resin of bisphenol-A type, alicyclic type, aliphatic type or other type and about 0.5-25pts.wt. of the complex formed by coordinating an amine such as N-methylaniline or ethylamine.
