Abstract

PURPOSE: To collect fine particle sample in quantity sufficient enough to be analized positively by an apparatus wherein the detecting means detects that the amount of sample collected by the fine particle collector reaches to a predetermined value, and then branched gas is switched in its path and returned back to the side of the abnormality monitoring device.
CONSTITUTION: Cooling gas within an electric generator 1 is branched and flows into an abnormality monitoring device 2. When the monitoring device 2 detects fine particles, it sends output to a solenoid valve 9 to change over its position from the side of the abnormality monitoring device 2 to the side of a branched conduit 7. There is provided a pressure relay 13 in the branched conduit 7, which operates upon rise in gas pressure and sends a signal to the solenoid valve 9 to return it back to the side of the abnormality monitoring device, when the amount of fine particles collected by a filter of a fine particle collector 3 reaches to a sufficient value to be analized as a sample. Thus, fine particles can be always collected in quantity capable of being analized positively, thereby resulting in prompt action against trouble and high reliable monitoring.
