Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect erosion damage quickly by monitoring the amount of powder in drain during the turbine operation after it is sealed into a turbine blade erosion seal piece. CONSTITUTION:An erosion shield piece 2 is welded on a turbine blade 1 after provided with clearances 18 and 19, which is filled with a detecting agent powder 20. During the turbine operation, the erosion shield piece 2 is eroded and the erosion damage reaches a section for filling powder 20 from the front rim section of the turbine blade 1, when the powder 20 is flying into the steam and evenly dispersed into drain. The powder 20 are sent into a feedwater heater 8 and a condenser 6 passing through an extraction system 10 and a condensating system 11. The drain is all introduced into a centrifugal separator 16 to separate the powder 20. The powder 20 thus separated is applied to a analyzer 17 which analyzes components to measure the content thereof. The content ratio of the powder 20 in terms of the drain is measured separately by recovery systems 12, 13 and 15 and compared with an arithmetic device 24.
