Abstract
PURPOSE:To hold a tension band without damaging it and also without the use of expensive parts by the procedure in which a fitting seat lug is provided to tension band, residual tension is applied, and then a fitting seat is welded. CONSTITUTION:The tension band 12 is provided with the fitting seat lug 11 for fitting it to a box, the tension band 12 is attached to the periphery of the thermosetting adhesive tape 10, one nonwelded portion is fastened so as to match one end with the other end, and then a tension is applied and welded. After the winding of the tension band 12, the position of the fitting seat 13 in relation to the cathode-ray tube 9 is determined and then fastened to the fitting seat lug 11 at the weld 14. Thus, residual tension is secured and the reliability of explosion-preventing treatment can be raised without the use of expensive parts and also without being influenced by the dimensional dispersion of the peripheral wall of the cathode-ray tube of the baking and fitting type.
