Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain sufficient implosion-proofing effect by the procedure in which lug and rim band, whose surface has self-lubricity, are provided and then a tension band is wound around the lug and the rim band. CONSTITUTION:The lug 11 and the rim band 12, endowed with self-lubricity and made of nylon resin, etc., are formed integrally on the surface of an implosion proof cathode-ray tube. In this case, an assembly consisting of the lug 11 and the rim band 12 is attached to the periphery of a panel and then a tension band is wound around the assembly by means of a supplier for fixation. Thus, friction with the tension band can be reduced, sufficient implosion proofing effect can be attained, and an implosion-proof cathode-ray tube having good characteristics can be obtained.
