Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to raise the critical stress of a plate spring which is fixed at its one longitudinal end portion and deflected at the opposite free end portion by external load, without changing its material and compliance, by making the width of plate spring on the side of its fixed end portion greater than that on the side of its free end portion. CONSTITUTION:In a contact spring which is driven by armature 6 actuated through energization of relay coil 5, one end is fixed to terminal plate 7 and contacts 8 is provided at its free end portion which is shaped in a bifurcated form. Here, width of plate spring 1 on the side of its fixed end portion where stress is concentrated is made greater than that on the side of free end portion where any stress is caused. However, critical stress of the plate spring 1 can be raised without affecting its compliance substantially since width of plate spring 1 is increased only partly. Further, in order to minimize the influence to compliance of plate spring 1, it is preferable to form slit 2 in the width-increased portion so that the sectional area of plate spring 1 may not be changed greatly along the length thereof.
