Abstract

1,099,024. Electromagnetic switches; snapaction switches. SWF-SPEZIALFABRIK FUER AUTOZUBEHOER GUSTAV RAU G.m.b.H. March 8, 1965 [March 7, 1964]. No. 9663/65. Heading H2B. A bi-stable relay has a snap-action changeover contact 7 rockable about one of its ends in a recess in a terminal cup 16 arranged so that the points of engagement between the contact member 7 and cup 16 changes as the contact moves. On energization of a coil 3 an armature 4 is attracted and a wire 9 thereon rocks a member 6 about its pivot 5. The member 6 is coupled to the change-over contact 7 by a snap-action compression spring 8. The movement of the curled end 7<SP>1</SP> across the U-section recess in the cup 16 at each operation ensures that the contact cannot stop between its extreme positions. Alternatively the recess may be rounded and the curled end 7<SP>1</SP> may retain a ball or rivet which engages the surface of the recess (Figs. 2 to 6, not shown).
