Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable the automatic and smooth spot welding of the joint part by so constituting the equipment that when the 2nd electrode advances to press the welding work and a C-type yoke receives a reaction the 1st electrode is attracted to the 2nd electrode. CONSTITUTION:As a cylinder unit 3 actuates, the 2nd electrode 7 advances and abuts against the welding work 14 and presses this. If the welding work 14 is held and fixed immobile in the home position, a C-type yoke 1 receives the reaction of the pressing because the cylinder unit 3 is fixed to the yoke 1. This reaction causes the yoke 1 to float upward and the 1st electrode 2 to be attracted toward an electrode 7, by which the welding work 14 is pressure-sandwiched between the electrodes 2, 7 and at the same time current is supplied, whereby spot welding is accomplished. When the unit 3 actuates in the opposite direction to let the electrode 7 retreat upon welding, the yoke 1 is retreated by the fluid pressure exerted from the cylinder unit 3 to the yoke 1, by which the electrode 2 is returned to the standby position.
