Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce an annealing separation agent which does not deteriorate the magnetic properties of an electromagnetic steel plate, by using a pulverizer comprising a pulverizing bowl made of porcelain and a rod to pulverize nonhydrated MgO into a prescribed grain diameter in a wet manner and then blending the pulverized MgO with limited quantities of Mg(OH)2 and an Al compound. CONSTITUTION:Unhydrated MgO is pulverized in a wet manner by a pulverizer, which comprises a pulverizing bowl made of porcelain and a rod, so that 70% or more of the grains of the pulverized MgO is 5mu or less in diameter. The pulverized substance is blended with 50% or less of Mg(OH)2 and 5% or less of an Al compound such as Al(OH)3 or Al(NO3)3. An annealing separation agent is thus produced. With this agent, the magnetic properties of an electromagnetic steel plate are not deteriorated in finish annealing. According to this method, iron which would deteriorate the magnetic properties does not mix into the agent as in the case that an iron-made bowl or rod is used, and the MgO can be pulverized in a short time as well as in dry pulverization.
