CONSTITUTION:Code conversion units 300-302 such as LSIs are incorporated in a private unit, and signal transmission dependent upon the digital base band system is performed between them and the private unit, and the signal includes a signal required for the telephone exchange operation. Then, the private unit is provided with data multiplexing unit 305, and subscriber's line 308 is so used commonly that transmission and receiving of telephone/data is possible between this private unit and the other-party private unit connected by the telephone exchange operation.
