Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to manage with only one transmitter by transmitting data from various terminals, differing in speed, at a single bit rate and by performing speed conversion at the terminal side of a subscriber's private transmitter or the office side of an office terminating equipment. CONSTITUTION:Clock signal 71 agreeing with a terminal speed is supplied from clock generator 67 of a terminal corresponding speed to speed conversion parts 63 and 64 by way of terminal-clock-signal output terminal 72. A signal of alphab/s from the terminal is inputted to transmission-side speed conversion part 63 by clock signal 71 that corresponds to alphab/s. In general, speed conversion part 63 consists of a memory and the data written by clock signal 71 is read out by clock 70 of a standarized subscriber's-line transmission speed and sent to output terminal 68 of the subscriber's line by way of transmitter 65. On the other hand, a received signal of the standardized speed from input terminal 69 of the subscriber's line is inputted to receiver 66, and consequently clock extraction is performed to write received data in the memory in reception-side speed conversion part 64 on the basis of clock signal 70. They are read out by clock signal 71.
