Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to adjust easily the impedance of a semiconductor element in a power limiting high-frequency circuit, by fitting the semiconductor element to a rectangular waveguide by the use of a screw with a step. CONSTITUTION:Into upper wall 1a of rectangular waveguide 1, metal screw 2 with cylindrical cavity 2a is inserted with cavity 2a facing to the inside of the waveguide. Into lower wall 1a' opposing to this metal screw, metal cylinder with a step whose root 3a and tip 3b are thick and thin respectively is screwed and between the tip of tip part 3b and the bottom surface of cavity 2a, pin diode 4 is provided. As the part of cylinder 3 is inserted into waveguide 1, the characteristic impedance of the equipment part of diode 4 decreases. Therefore, this variation in the characteristic impedance is made use of so as to correct dispersion of the impedance at the time of the low power of diode 4, preventing the loss of power.
