Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify assembling when two or more devices are to be connected in series, and to reduce the size of the device as well as to facilitate loading and unloading a opticalfiber, by irradiating phototrigger signals to a thyristor element from a side face of a surrounding equipment.
CONSTITUTION: A phototrigger thristor element 20 is supported by anode and cathode electrodes 21 and 22 in between, and is placed on the inner surface of a surrounding equipment 23 being made of an insulator in whose wall a through hole 26 that crosses the surface of the equipment 23, is formed. Then a connecting section of a opticalfiber 30 is screwed on a cylindrical body that has a light transmitting material on its tip and that is inserted and fixed in the through hole 26. Light emitted from the tip of the cylindrical body by means of trigger signals is irradiated on a part of the element 20. By so doing, the cathode 22 can be directly connected on the anode 21 of the phototrigger thyristor when two or more devices are connected in series. Thereby, simple assembling and small device as well as easy loading and unloading of the opticalfiber are achieved.
