Abstract

PURPOSE: To accomplish measurement of the direction and the position of a moving object easily with a set of devices by searching the direction and the position of the object receiving ultrasonic wave from the fixed point thereon.
CONSTITUTION: The signal wave of frequency f2 generated with a signal wave oscillator 1 is applied to a ring modulators 3 through a gate circuit 2. The modulator 3 overlaps the ultrasonic wave of frequency f1 as carrier transmitted from an ultrasonic wave oscillator 4 and emits thereof from the ultrasonic transmitter 8. Very high frequency received with receiver 9 on the moving object is demodulated to a signal of frequency f2 with a demodulator 13. On the other hand, when a distance measuring signal is outputted from a controller 19, the counter circuit 20 starts counting the pulse of a pulse generator 21. At the same time, a radio wave is emitted from the antenna, and received with an antenna 27 to open the circuit 2 whereby the signal wave of the oscillator 1 is emitted from a transmitter 8. Receiving the wave, the circuit 20 halts the counting while the distance of the object is determined from the number of counting. The direction of the object is searched with a direction searching device 34.
