Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve controllability and to increase heat flux and liquid lifting capacity, by providing an evaporating section and an upper liquid reserving section in a heating section and further providing a pump for transferring work liquid from a lower liquid reserving section to the upper liquid reserving section via a liquid lifting pipe.
CONSTITUTION: When current is supplied to winding 17, plunger 15 is moved downward so that work liquid 5 is carried upward via opened valve 18. With subsequent interruption of current supply to the winding 17, plunger 15 is moved upward by spring 16 so that valve 18 is closed but valve 20 is opened. Therefore, work liquid 5 is carried further upward. Thus, work liquid 5 is carried from lower liquid reserving section 4 to upper liquid reserving chamber 8 via liquid lifting pipe 11 and then carried from opening 9 to wick 10 in evaporating section 6. Work liquid 5 heated in heating section 2 is evaporated into vapor, and after releasing heat in heat releasing section 3, it is returned to lower liquid reserving section 4. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to omit recirculating wick, to increase the space for heating section and heat releasing section and to control heat flux in a wide range.
