Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the descaling efficiency and the working efficiency, by determining the tensile stress to be impressed on the rod to be descaled according to the peculiar formula, and by deciding various dimensions like as the roll diameter, etc., correspondingly to thus determined stress. CONSTITUTION:The tensile stress sigmaT to be impressed on the rod 1 is determined according to the formula I depending on the yield point sigmaY and Young's modulus E of the descaled rod 1, and the elongation (e) to be given to the descaled rod 1 and the number (n) of the rolls. Correspondingly to this tensile stress sigmaT, various dimensions like as the roll diameter, the pitch, the rolling reduction, etc., of the roll bender are decided. The set tension T0 is calculated (calculation from the elongation and rod diameter) from the stress sigmaT, and this value T0 as the set value is inputted to the controller 5. The controller 5 sends the control signal corresponding to difference between the measured tension T and the set tension T0, to the motor 6; in case of T0>T, the roll 2 is shifted in the arrowed direction under the specified rolling reduction, and in case of T0<T, the roll 2 is shifted in opposite direction to the arrow.
