Abstract

PURPOSE:To promote thermal insulation and strength for a liquid embankment and inner earth floor of a liquefied gas storage tank by casting foamed-bead concrete using organic high-molecular foamed grains for aggregate and forming a heat-insulating layer. CONSTITUTION:Waste concrete 18 is cast over a dirt base 17 of an earth floor 16 inside a liquid embankment 12, and a waterproof layer 19 is laid over the surface thereof to cover the side of the liquid embankment 12. Over the upper face of the waterproof layer 19 and the inside of the liquid embankment 12, foamed-bead concrete made of properly arranged mixture of organic high-molecular foamed grains are aggregate like polystyrene beads and so on, water, cement, and mixing agent, is directly cast by a pump through a hose for forming a heat-insulating layer B. A waterproof layer 21 over the surface of the heat-insulating layer B and a surface-protecting layer 22 over the surface thereof are provided for finishing the heat-insulating process.
