Abstract

PURPOSE: To automate the operation of rapid filter ponds, to keep the number of rapid filter ponds to be operated reasonable, and to increase working efficiency of water purification so as to operate the filter pond efficiently,by distributing the increase or decrease in the quantity of water to be treated to all working ponds in proportion to the increase or decrease, and by, when the increase or the decrease is impossible, increasing or decreasing the number of ponds to be operated.
CONSTITUTION: Water send from a river 1 by a pump 2 to a water purification plant is delivered once to a raw water tank 3, then it is distributed to plural settling ponds 4, further to plural filter ponds 5. The flow rate of water sent to a cleaning bed 6 is used as total filtration flow rate set value by a flow meter 7 equipped at the outlet of the raw water tank 3 and by a water level meter 8 equipped at the settling ponds 4 because it is filtrated. The treated water, after passing through an arithmetic unit 9, then a distributor 10 which distributes water to the working filter ponds 5 only, is sent to flow controllers 11 for filtrated water of respective filter ponds 5. On the other hand, the number of filter ponds 5 to be operated is determined according to the output of the arithmetic unit 9 or the water in-take plan.
