Abstract
PURPOSE: To purify the water of a pond in a park, etc. and at the same time to supply oxygen to the water, by guiding the water of the pond along an up- flowing path to the back side of a waterfall of the pond and flowing the water treated by a filtering process to the waterfall.
CONSTITUTION: A waterfall 2 is made at a part of the border of a pond 1 in a park, a garden, etc. by piling up the pudding stones, rock pieces, etc. An up- flowing filter device 3 is installed at the back side of the waterfall 2. The water of the pond 1 is led to a raw water supply pipe 4. The gross solid matters like the leaves, etc. are isolated by a screen like a strainer 11, etc. Then the water is supplied to the main body 5 of a filter tank of the device 3 by a pump P and flowed upward to a filling layer 6 for elimination of the suspended solid matters. The clear treated water obtained at the upper part of the main body 5 is received at a trough 7 to be evenly distributed over the surface of the waterfall 2. Thw water sprayed to the waterfall 2 touches the air to obtain oxygen while flowing down the waterfall 2. In such way, the water in the pond 1 is cleaned enough to keep the fish in the pond living at ease.
