Abstract

PURPOSE: To remove higher harmonics from an output voltage very much and reduce size, weight and cost, by making the reluctances of a plurality of magnetic circuits provided in a single AC reactor, different from one another.
CONSTITUTION: A plurality of magnetic circuits 23A, 23B are provided in an AC reactor 13. The lengths of the air gaps of the magnetic circuits are made different from one another in order to make their reluctances different from one another. A yoke 22 is placed obliquely to a core 20 around which a coil 21 is provided. The length of the air gaps included in the magnetic circuit 23A is g1+g2. The length of the air gaps included in the other magnetic circuit 23B is g2+g3. Since the yoke 22 is obliquely placed, g1 is smaller than g2 and g1+2 is smaller than g2+g3. Therefore, the reluctance of the magnetic circuit 23A is lower than that of the other magnetic circuit 23B. Because a series resonance circuit having the AC reactor 13 tunes with unmerous higher harmonics, the output voltage of the series resonance circuit is very good.
