Abstract

PURPOSE: To rationally and simply fabricate an extra-high voltage or very extra- high voltage and large capacity transformer having double rated voltage with respect to its insulation and current distribution by combining high voltage winding having three winding units and low voltage winding according to special process.
CONSTITUTION: The high voltage winding of a transformer consists of three high voltage winding units H1, H2 and H3 in such a manner that the sum of the number of turns of the winding units H1 and H3 is equal to that of the winding unit H2. The winding units H1, H2 and H3 and low voltage winding L are so disposed sequentially in the order of the winding unit H3, the low voltage winding L, the winding units H2 and H1 from the inside of an iron core 1. When the high voltage windings are used at low rated voltage, the winding units H1, H2 are connected in series with each other and in parallel with the winding unit H2. When the high voltage windings are used at rated high voltage, the winding units H1, H2 and H3 are connected in series with each other. In any case, the leakage reactances between the winding unit H2 and the low voltage winding L, and between the winding units H1 and H3 are set substantially equal, thereby rationally setting the values in the insulation and current distribution of the transformer.
