Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain high voltage, by utilizing the rectangular hysteresis characteristics of half-hard magnetic materials by using the half-hard magnetic materials as one portion of a magnetic circuit of the separate excitation system generator.
CONSTITUTION: A stator core 1 is formed in such a manner that armature cores 2a, 2b to which armature coils 5a, 5b are wound and field cores 3a, 3b to which field coils 6a, 6b are wound are arranged at locations, which mutually part at the angles of 90°, while fan-shaped yoke portions 4a∼4d are disposed at the four corners, and an inductor 9 is mounted to a shaft 8. At least one portion of a magnetic circuit consisting of the stator core 1 and the inductor 9 such as the armature core 2a, 2b portions is made up by half-hard magnetic materials with rectangular hysteresis characteristics. When the inductor 9 is revolved by DC-exciting the field coils 6a, 6b, magnetig flux flow through the armature cores 2a, 2b alternates, but a coefficient of variation in time of the magnetic flux becomes extremely large owing to the rectangular hysteresis characteristics of the armature cores 2a, 2b, and high voltage is generated at the armature coils 5a, 5b.
