Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible the identification of the deterioration in the lighting arrestor by allowing the detection of only the leakage current through the resistance component in the lighting arrester during the transmission of power.
CONSTITUTION: The voltage waveform is picked up with a detection resistor 3 in series connected to the ground wire of the lighting arrester 2 and shaped in the form by way of an LPF4. On the other hand, the voltage waveform is picked up divided with the combination of the secondary side wire 12 of a transformer for instrumentation provided on the power transmission line 1 and the electrode 13 and differentiated 17 through an LPF16 to form 19 a rectangular wave with a fixed amplitude. Then, the output of the circuit 5 is detected with an aid of the output of circuit 19 and undergoes a half-wave rectification filter 7 to produce the DC output of the current of the lighting arrestor 2. At the same time, the output of the LPF4 undergoes a half-wave recrification filter 10 to produce the DC output. The both DC output is multipled 8 and the result is given to the meter to indicate the value of the leakage current.
