Abstract

PURPOSE: To stably pick out a heavy workpiece by a simple structure comprising fixed claws and a movable claw.
CONSTITUTION: A main body 3 made of flat plates in combination is attached to the tip of an arm 2 which can be moved in a vertical direction, a front-to-rear direction and a right-to-left direction at the upper part of a casting machine. Auxiliary plates 3b, 3c and a fitting plate 3a on the tip of the arm are arranged as the flat plates 3 of the main body 3 so that a box is constituted by a coupling plate 3d. Fixed claws 14, which come into contact with the inside surface of a workpiece 20, are secured on the reverse side of the flat plates 3 so that the fixed claws are oriented outward from the centers of the flat plates. To provide a movable claw 14 oriented downward, L-shaped stoppers 5, 6 are arranged in the center of the flat plates and fitted with an actuator 7. A bracket 9 is attached to the tip of the rod 8 of the actuator 7. The movable claw 14 is secured on the tip of the bracket. The heavy workpiece can be stably held at three pionts by a simple and light structure in which the actuator 7 is caused to slide.
