Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an electric coil of high dimensional accuracy and mechanical strength, by winding a conductor in a cavity of prescirbed shape in a splittable winding mold, then injecting a no-solvent resin into the caivty and solidifying the resin. CONSTITUTION:A sheet 16 of mold separating property is laid in the cavity 12c of a winding mold 12 on its inside. A fibrous material 17 is laid on the inside of the sheet 16. The winding mold 11 is rotated to wind a conductor 19a in the cavity 11c to manufacute a coil 19. The mold is then put in an impregnation vessel so that an injection port 12d is located on the upside. A no-solvent resin is sufficiently impregnated into the coil 19 and the fibrous material 17. The mold is thereafter picked out of the impregnation vessel and placed in a heating furnace to harden the resin. After cooling, bolts 13, 15, a lid 14 and winding mold frames 12a, 12b are removed to pick out the coil 19. According to this method, adhesion of the resin to unnecessary portions, deformation of the coil, outflow of the resin, etc. are eliminated and an electric coil of very high dimensional accuracy and good mechanical strength is provided.
