PURPOSE: To obtain a free valve type reciprocating vacuum pump which serves as highly efficient single-acting two-stage mechanism by providing pairs of suction valves and delivery valves at the upper and the lower parts of the cylinder and connecting the upper delivery valve and the lower suction valve.
CONSTITUTION: Pairs of suction valves 11, 13 and delivery valves 12, 14 are provided at the upper and the lower parts of the cylinder 10, and the upper delivery valve 12 and the lower delivery valve 13 are connected by the connecting passage 15. Then, gas is sucked in at the pulling stroke by opening the upper suction valve 11 and delivered at the pushing stroke by opening the upper delivery valve 12. Also, gas is delivered at the pulling stroke by opening the lower part delivery valve 14 and gas that is delivered from the upper delivery valve 12 is sucked in at the pushing stroke by opening the lower part suction valve 14. Being thus constituted, by employing one cylinder and one piston, work efficiency can be improved by the first stage of pushing stroke and the second stage of the pulling stroke.
