Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the need for a suction valve and improve a suction efficiency at high speed running by making friction faces of an inner wall of a cylinder and an outer wall of a piston from ceramics and forming a radial suction port in the region of a stroke of the piston.
CONSTITUTION: A piston 24 is secured on a connecting rod 28 through means of a piston pin 27. A cylinder cover 31 through which a discharge hole 29 with a discharge valve 30 thereon is formed is mounted on a cylinder ring 23. A cylinder head 33 is secured on the cylinder cover, containing a discharge chamber 32. The piston 24 is forced by the connecting rod 28 to reciprocate inside the cylinder ring. In case the piston 24 is pushed down, a gas is sucked through a suction passage 22 and a suction port 26 into a cylinder chamber 25. In other case the piston 24 is pushed up, the gas is squeezed through the discharge hole 29 and the discharge valve 30 into the discharge chamber 32.
