CONSTITUTION:In surface-treatment of zinc or zinc-plated steel sheet in order to improve the corrosion resistance and the adhesive property of coating, the zinc plate etc. is treated with a phosphate soln., which contains 0.005-0.2g/l trivalent chromium ions in a ratio of between 1/500 and 1/50 of trivalent chromium ions to phosphoric acid ions, by immersion or spray process, in addn., the material is after-treated with a chromate soln. Zinc or zinc plated steel sheet hereby treated has corrosion resistance not lower than that of conventional products, and improved destruction resistance of the coating.
