Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a one-pack type quick-drying urethane resin giving a coating film having excellent water resistance and weather resistance, by reacting the reaction product of a diisocyanate and an active hydrogen-containing low-molecular compound, with a hydroxyl group-containing high-molecular compound.
CONSTITUTION: (A) An organic diisocyanate (e.g. ω, ω'-diisocyanate-1,3-dimethylbenzene) is reacted with (B) an active hydrogen-containing low-molecular compound (e.g. trimethylolpropane) at an NCO/active hydrogen ratio of 2W10, and the unreacted diisocyanate is removed from the reaction product by extraction, evaporation. etc. The product is reacted with a hydroxyl group-containing high-molecular compound (e.g. polyoxypropylene glycol) at an NCO/OH ratio of 1.4W10.
EFFECT: The resin is free of the diisocyanate monomer and has improved stability.
