Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the titld polyurethane adhesive excellent in the weathering resistance, by reacting an adduct of a diisocyanate wherein free isocyanate groups have substantially been removed with a hydroxy compound to remove the remaining free isocyanate groups.
CONSTITUTION: A non-yellowing diisocyanate (aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, or aromatic diisocyanates wherein the isocyanate groups are not bended directly to the aromatic group) (e.g., hexamethylene diisocyanate) is reacted with a polyol (containing two or more active hydrogen atoms and having a molecular weight ≤ 500) in an equivalent ratio of NCO/OH≥2, and then free isocyanate groups are substantially removed from the resulting adduct of the diisocyanate using a thin film evaporator or the like. Then said adduct is reacted with a hydroxy compound having active hydrogen in an equivalent ratio of 1<NCO/OH≤10 to obtain an adhesive.
