Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the titled novel compound which can be easily diluted with an arbitrary amount of water giving stable, clear aqueous solution, by neutralizing a blocked isocyanate compound having specific structure with an acidic substance.
CONSTITUTION: A blocked isocyanate compound of formula (A is polyisocyanate residue; R and R' and 2W6C hydrocarbon groups; Z is residue of blocking agent of the isocyanate group; n is 1W6) is prepared by reacting (A) an isocyanate-terminated prepolymer obtained by reaction of (i) a hydroxyhydrocarbon-disubstituted piperazine with (ii) an excess polyisocyanate compound (e.g. 1,6-hexamethylene diisocyanate), with (B) a blocking agent (e.g. methanol). The objective compound can be obtained by neutralizing the above obtained compound with an acidic compound (e.g. acetic acid).
USE: Useful esp. as a crosslinking agent of one-pack water-based polyurethana paint.
