Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide sure operation of a control valve for absorbing dimensional error of components, by using wax as a heat-sensitive medium and axially shifting the heat-sensitive unit through a regulator by turning and axially shifting a control unit.
CONSTITUTION: When a hot water control valve a is closed, a water control valve b is open and only water in a water passage 1 of mixed water passage 3 flows in, a handle 25 is turned to draw a hot water valve body 21 for opening a hot water control valve 33. Then a spring 42 closes the water control valve b of a water valve body 46 and opens the hot water control valve 33 and another hot water control valve c of a heat-sensitive unit 30. Hot water and water flow in the hot water control valve 33, and the heat-sensitive unit 30 is pressed floward by an adjust screw 27 which is pressed by a piston 39 pushed due to expansion of wax 43 in the unit 30, which closes the hot water control valve c and open the water control valve b. The action of this mixing valve is precise and reliable, because the mixing temperature is set at a position where the force of spring 47 is in harmony with the piston pressure of heat-sensitive unit 30.
