Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain proper contrast by providing a recording medium for a pattern signal generator, which displays a picture on a TV screen, with a level control circuit which makes even the output of each photoelectric converting element scanning a standard contract part and a level converting circuit which converts the output of the scan on the picture part into a desired level.
CONSTITUTION: When black reference level 3 on card 1 is scanned by photoelectric element 11, it is stored in memory circuit 13a by a timing signal obtained by detecting read mark 2a and when a white reference level, it is stored in memory circuit 14a; each output is adjusted to an even level through level-difference detection circuit 15a and adjusting amplifier 12a. Each output of picture read operation is stored in memory circuit 17a, and all outputs are inputted to minimum level detection circuit 21 and then passed through comparator 19 which regards the lowest level as the reference level and converts the other outputs into corresponding levels .
