Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture the title plate with high reproducibility and a low inferiority rate without causing enviromental pollution due to waste solvent by forming a photosensitive resin into the shape of the desired printing plate and applying active rays of light to set the plate. CONSTITUTION:A metal plate such as a zinc plate, a PS zinc plate or a copper plate or a resin plate such as a nylon plate is used in letterpress, and a thermosetting resin such as phenol resin is hot pressed under predetermined conditions to obtain a female mold. Using this mold a photosensitive resin is formed into the shape of a desired printing plate by casting in case of a liquid resin or press or injection molding in case of a solide resin. A burr forced out of the mold or a resin plate resulted in a failure can be recycled. The formed resin plate is then irradiated with active rays of light from a chemical lamp, a high voltage mercury lamp, a xenon lamp or the like to set the exposed portion, and by releasing from the mold a printing resin plate is obtained having a relief which closely follows the negative.
