Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture titled electric welded steel pipe with surface coated with uniformly molten and spread coating material, by continuously feeding the low melting point coating material in longitudinal direction on one side plane of the steel strip to be inside surface of the pipe, by forming the steel strip into the seam pipe, and then, by heating the pipe within the nonoxidizing atmosphere.
CONSTITUTION: The thin steel strip 1 is formed into the open seam pipe 2 through the process I to deposit unfixed linear type low melting point coating material (m) on the inner surface. This pipe 2 is sent to the process II, where both mouth edges 1a, 1a, of the pipe 2 are electrically heated by the electrode roll ER, and are pressure welded (w) by the pressure welding roll R2, and the seam pipe 3 is formed. Then, this pipe 3 is sent to the process III, where the pipe 3 is passed through the primary heater F1 holding the nonoxidizing atmosphere, and the internally deposited coating material (m) is fixed m' on the inner surface of the pipe 3. Next, this seam pipe 4 is cooled and cut R4 into desired length l, and is passed through the secondary heater F2 holding the nonoxidizing atmosphere. In the heater F2, the pipe 4 is heated to melting point of the coating material (m) to melt and spread to coating material (m), and the aim seam pipe 5, that is the thin diameter electric welded steel pipe with inner surface provided with the coat (p), is manufactured.
