Abstract

PURPOSE: To drastically rationalize the construction in space on the sea and to carry out the filling of precast embankment by a method wherein the sloped ceiling of the embankment is constructed at caisson yard with the embankment body in one body, and after being launched, tugged and installed, the suspension of water and sand is filled in the embankment body.
CONSTITUTION: An embankment body 1 having plural number of holes 3 on a sloped concrete plate 4, which are interconnected through each room partitioned with a bulkhead 2, is constructed at caisson yard with the upper structure being constructed with a caisson as one body construction. Then, the fron opening portion of embankment 1 is closed with a tentative steel plate lid 1' to be sealed out, and tugged to the construction site thereafter. Immediately after this caisson is installed on the rubble stone levelled mound which is previously prepared at the planed position for the installation of embankment body, the fitting operation using the sand previously placed on the sea bottom tentatively is started, that is, filling material 9 is sucked from the sea bottom using sand pump 10 suspended from work ship 7, and filled into each caisson through hole 3 underneath the plate 4 by increasing the pressure, then the rest of water is discharged through hole 3 on the upper side.
