Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the image reproducing material usable for electrophotographic circuit offset printing plates, etc. without using silver salts by forming the intermediate layer and photo-polymerizable layer containing active ray absorbing agents on a transparent substrate and keeping the sum of the optical densities of the both layers at above the specific value. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate layer of solvent soluble high polymer material (methyl methacrylate-methacrylic acid copolymer) having film-formability containing active ray (wavelength region of 300-400mmu) absorbing agents such as carbon black is formed on a transparent film. A photo-polymerizable layer containing the similar active ray absorbing agents is provided on the intermediate layer. The laminate is so produced that the sum of the optical densities of the both layers becomes 3 or more and that the optical density of the photo-polymerizable layer is 1 up to 3. A halftone positive original is superposed on this image reproducing material and is developed after exposure by using a high-voltage mercury arc lamp, whereby the sharp halftone images are obtained.
