Abstract

PURPOSE: To decrease the coloring of filtrate, to remove malodors, and to discharge the filtrate as it is, by a method wherein sludge is dehydrated, pressurized and heated under a fixed condition, and again dehydrated.
CONSTITUTION: The water content of sludge is lowered by means of a centrifugal separator, and the sludge is heated at the temperature of approximate 130W180°C and under pressurization in the extent which the sludge does not boil up. The sludge heat-treated is again dehydrated by means of the centrifugal separator. A liquid separated at that time is the approximately colorless one which displays slight yellow or pink, and is remarkably excellent as compared to one obtained by means of conventional treating methods at a point which residual total organic compound content (TOC) is particularly extremely little, and no trouble is formed even when the liquid is discharged as it is.
