Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable the flaw-removng work by electrolytic working to be done fully automatically and efficiently by providing the means of detecting various flaws of metal body surfaces, selectively operating electrode groups and performing current supplying and electrolyte supplying only to the detected part.
CONSTITUTION: When surface flaws 2 of a metal body 1 are detected, the sizes, shapes and positions thereof are stored. The electrode groups corresponding to these flaws 2 are operated to be approached to the metal body 1 surface and current is supplied with the metal surface 1 side as anode and the electrode side as cathode. At the same time, electrolyte 12 is supplied from a nozzle 11. Thereby, only the portions of the surface flaws 2 are dissolved away. The metal melt eluted by this electrolysis method is immediately force flowed by the electrolyte and is automatically removed, hence there is no inclusion of the melt into the metal body surface nor resolidification thereof, thus the perfect removal effect is obtained, resulting in the higher yield of flaw removal. In addition, simultaneous treatment of multiple flaws becomes feasible.
