Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve better conveniences of use by making focusing accuracy variable.
CONSTITUTION: The allowable shift amount Kx for focusing ranges RF1, RF2 at respective F-numbers is determined. The absolute value |k| of the output phase difference k of a photo sensor is compared with the allowable shift amount Kx and if the absolute value |k| is equal to or smaller than the allowable shift amount Kx, the phase difference k is within the focusing range and therefore the focusing signal is outputted. If the phase difference k is smaller than the allowable shift amount -Kx, the rear-focus signal is outputted and if k>-Kx, the front-focus signal is outputted. Thereby, the focusing accuracy may be changed according to F- numbers and the device becomes easier to use.
