Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the catching efficiency of an object image based upon a range finding part instruction mark and to improve the speed and accuracy of focusing by providing respective range finding visual fields with a common area and allowing the range finding part instruction mark to include the common area.
CONSTITUTION: The circular range finding part instruction mark 129 formed on a focusing plate or the like is displayed on the center part of a finder visual field frame 126 and the positions of two range finding visual fields 127, 128 are indicated on the mark 129. The two fields 127, 128 are formed by two AF optical systems X, Y, which adopt a phase difference detecting method for two images. The range finding fields 127, 128 having the common area are dividedly formed about the optical axis of an objective lens 106. The field 127 corresponds to images formed on a picture element arrays 105aW105d and the field d128 corresponds to images formed on a picture element arrays 105a, 105c. Consequently, the catching efficiency of the object image can be increased and the speed and accuracy of the focusing can be improved.
