Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve power source power factor and reduce power source capacity and magnetic moise, by providing two sets of rectifiers, which are connected to two sets of AC power sources, in a device to excite an electromagnet, which attracts objects, and operating firing control of thyristors by the output of one side at the time of normal control.
CONSTITUTION: Excitation of electromagnet 15, which attracts object 16 is operated by the output of rectifiers 13, 14, which rectify respectively the AC outputs of motor-generator 12, which is provided with two sets of generators. At the time of normal control, voltage is supplied from rectifier 14 to electromagnet 15. The output voltage of generator 12 is determined by the condition which permits the operation of thyristors 14aW14f provided in rectifier 12 in the neighborhood of the conducting angle of 0 and the voltage required by the load. Thus, the ripples of output voltage Ed0 of rectifier 14 are reduced, and the voltage is impressed on electromagnet 15 via either one of the two arms connected in series to rectifier 13. Thus, the output voltage power source power factor of generator 12 is improved, the power source capacity is reduced, and at the same time, noise produced by electromagnet 15 is reduced.
