CONSTITUTION: Target speed generating circuit 2 is controlled through control circuit 1 to generate the positioning movement speed of magnetic head 11 through voice coil motor 8 by speed signal generating circuit 4, and the speed of head 11 is servocontrolled through a coarse-fine switching circuit to equalize a set speed to a movement speed at a differential amplifier, thereby exercising coarse control over the position of head 11. Since this circuit 4 has its gain controlled through a thermistor, etc., detecting the temperature of the permanent magnet, etc., of motor 8, the coarse control over the head position can accurately be exercised. Similarly, the positioning of the head is carried out accutately under servocontrol of the coarse control without influencing the temperature by position signal demodulation circuit 12, error signal generating circuit 7, etc., whose servo constant is controlled according to the detected temperature of the permanent magnet of motor 8.
