CONSTITUTION:A position signal 11 is formed with a position signal generator from the information with a servo head and a data head fitted to a carriage 2, and a speed signal 13 is formed at a speed detection circuit 4 by using the position signal 11 and a signal from a power amplifier 6. The position signal 11 and the speed signal 13 are introduced to a position error amplifier 5, where the position signal 12 produced at the amplifier 5 is added with a position correcting value of the head given from a correction circuit 8 for correction. The data head can accurately be aligned on a track by controlling the movement of the carriage 2 from the correction.
