Abstract

PURPOSE: To flow fuel fluently from the primary air horn to the secondary air horn of a two-stage carburetor by providing a slow speed fuel system in the secondary air horn which allows fuel to run from the slow speed system into an acceleration pump.
CONSTITUTION: A slow speed fuel system consisting of a float chamber 25, slow speed fuel passage 7 and blast nozzle 8 opening close to a throttle valve 2 is built in a secondary carburetor system including a secondary throttle valve 2. In addition, a fuel reserve well 11 and fuel return room 22 connected to it by a connecting port 17 are built in the secondary carburetor system. The fuel reserve well 11 is connected by a venturi 12 to the blast nozzle 8 and the fuel return room 22 is connected to a fuel return pump 8 feeding back surplus fuel into the float chamber 25. Fuel purged from the acceleration pump 10 is guided into the fuel well 11 by the passage 18, a check valve 19, an orifice 20 and air passage 9. Once the throttle valve 2 opens, the fuel is rushed out from the blast nozzle 8.
