Abstract

PURPOSE:To decide the degree of deterioration of a catalyst, unnecessitate gas sampling and make continuous monitoring possible by measuring the transition of the temp. distribution in the catalyst layer and in the vicinity thereof. CONSTITUTION:A heating zone H partitioned by an evaporating body A and a hardening zone B along the passageway of a core 2 is provided in an enameled wire baking machine 1, and a passageway 4 guiding a solvent gas to a catalyst 3 is branched from the upper end of an evaporating body A. A combustion gas passageway 5 at the rear part of the catalyst 3 is branched into a passageway 7 leading to the open air through a damper 6 at its front part and a passageway 8 leading to a hardening zone B. Thermocouples T1-T4 are arranged in the vicinity of the catalyst surface at the solvent gas inlet side, in the catalyst close to the solvent gas inlet at the combustion gas outlet side, in the catalyst close to the outlet of the solvent gas and in the vicinty of the catalyst at the combustion gas outlet, and these thermocouples T1-T4 are connected to the CPU. By this organization, the transition of the temperature distribution within the catalyst layer or in the vicinity thereof can be measured.
