Abstract
PURPOSE: To achieve higher efficiency of reaction vessel and minimization of equipment area used and continuously and effectively treat the waste water of low and high concentrations by circulatively moving activated sludge and minimizing the volume of the supernatant storage part.
CONSTITUTION: The active sludge in the waste water treating apparatus is sent from a communicating pipe 10 into the lower part of an aeration tank 9, where it is mixed with waste water 16 and the mixed water rises and is aerated by air 12. At the same time, it flows from a settler 23 into an influent pipe 13 and the lower part of a reaction vessel 6. The activated sludge mixed liquid is turned over by the action of a reflecting plate 4 and becomes upward flow so that sludge is accmulated in a baffle 7 and become floc. Further it slowly overflows on the top end of a lead wall 3, falls down along a sloped side wall 2 and reaches a communicating pipe 10 to circulate. The more it is subjected to the air exposure with such constitution, the more the circulation flow rate of the sludge fluid bed will be and this makes the waste water treatment efficiency higher. In addition, even if the circulating fluid sludge amount becomes large, it is the flow in the baffle isolated from the supernatant part and therefore there is no need for increasing the fluid pass section, thus advantages such as feasibility of miniaturization of equipment are given.
