Abstract

PURPOSE: To widely improve the residual image characteristic by constructing a p- type photoconductive film with a non-crystalline material of high resistance and restricting the thickness of a porous layer within a specific range.
CONSTITUTION: A cerium oxide film is formed to a thickness of about 500Å on a transparent conductive film 2 formed on a glass substrate 1. Deposition of the cerium oxide film yields an n-type transparent conductive film 3. A p-type conductive film 4 consisting of a p-type Se-As amarphous seimconductor film is formed to a thickness of 4W6nm on the n-type transparent conductive film 3. A porous conductive film 5 of antimony trisulfide is formed, for instance, by deposition within N2 gas atmosphere under 0.1W0.2 Torr to a thickness within a range of 400W 600Å on the p-type photo-conductive film 4.
