Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent drag by interposing a piston return spring between a stator in contact with a piston fitted in a cylinder body and a stator in contact with a caliper. CONSTITUTION:A piston return spring 11 is interposed between a stator 7a in contact with a piston 9 fitted in a cylinder body 6 and a stator 7b in contact with a caliper 5. With an oil pressure applied to the piston 9 and with the spring 11 being compressed, the stator 7a is pressed against a rotating assembly rotor and a lining, to brake the rotor properly. When the oil pressure acting on the piston 9 is released, the recoil strength of the spring 11 returns the piston 9 to the original position through the function of the stator 7a. Thus, drag of the brake can be prevented.
