Abstract

PURPOSE:To make machining, assembling works, etc. easier as compared to conventional stationary bearings by forming the mutually special contact faces to the carrier bars of the rolling mill and providing the antifriction bearings which are capable of adjusting the deviations of the rotating centers of screw-down screws. CONSTITUTION:In the constitution of moving the roll 1 installed to metal chocks 2 by carrier bars 7 via pins 6 from balance cylinders 5, the antifriction bearings 13 each consisting of a stationary ring 15, roller 16 and revolving ring 17 are provided in the square bearing boxes 14 of the carrier bars 7, wherein the revolving rings 17 are of convex spherical form and make contact with the retainer blocks 18 of concave spherical form and the other faces of the blocks 18 revolve in contact with the screw-down screws 3. The bearing boxes 14 are so constituted as not to be restrained vertically and laterally in position by way of plates 19 to the metal chocks 2 and the screws 3 are so constituted as not to be restrained in position by the bearings 13. The assembling and maintenance are easy.
